k l y66 tOver the Easter weekend I finally got a chance to go to the popular Neighbourgoods Market in Braamfontein (Braam). The market takes place over two floors of 73 Juta Street, a Johannesburg landmark building featuring a large scale concrete facade by Edoardo Villa. Now, if you’re from Cape Town then you’ll be familiar with The Neighbourgoods Market held every Saturday at The Old Biscuitmill. I am pleased to announce that the market in Braam is just as amazing and the vibe is electric.Trendy people, fresh food, quirky clothes and accessories on offer is what you can expect here. The market is sandwiched among some of the coolest buildings in the busy Braam district and naturally,I am in love with the density of the buildings and how walking through alleyways, up stairs and onto rooftops can charm it’s way into your heart. Braamfontein is a part of a regeneration initiative by The Joburg Development Agency and property owners. It’s an arts district offering live entertainment, art and some of the best food and coffee the city has to offer. The nachos changed my life and I got to devour them on the rooftop which features a great view of the city. Wake up early on a Saturday and make your way down to The Neighbourgoods Market in Jozi, you won’t regret it.
